so much entertainment

i’ve been pretty busy this week. mostly with dorky things. yesterday i had a midterm in my public speaking course as well as my leadership class. lol. so i’ve been studying for both of those like crazy. well the public speaking one. le100 doesn’t require too much studying as long as one has done all of the reading. so i made tons of flash cards and underlined parts of my notes and reread sections and took a practice test for each chapter that the midterm would cover and then i went in to take the test. are you ready for this? 8 minutes. that’s how long that test took me. i spent about 2 weeks prepping hardcore for an 8 minute exam. it was awesome. although i do understand the value of a liberal education and i learned a lot in all of my studying i just feel like maybe i should’ve been challenged slightly a little more than i was. but you never know. and its not like i stuck around longer than 11 minutes so i don’t know how long it took other people. i know there were about five of us done at the same time though.

the rest of my classes are going really well. next week will be kind of a busy week because i have to coordinate a voter reg table for PISSED and i’d really like to do an informative booth. not to mention, i need to give a speech in public speaking on tuesday about how to vote. and i have it outlined and stuff i just need to add statistics and facts and shit. plus maybe an example or two. we’ll see. its only 7 minutes. and i can use like as few as 5 quotes to make a 7 minutes speech. i’m pretty used to 11. so we’ll see what i can come up with. god bless being an extemper. everyone should be one so that they won’t stree out as much about public speaking in college.

today i got into a mini-debate in government about media bias. because i think that the people at the top choose conservative issues to report on and then the reports report on them liberally. i know theres a bias there. i’m just not sure that its a bias toward a political party or just a bias toward stupid. eh. i think what probably happens is that the media attacks the conservative agenda. instead of agreeing with the conservative agenda which would make it obviously conservative, or supporting the liberal agenda which would make it obviously liberal. its hard to tell. what angered me was that the guy in the class who was debating me most said that the guardian isn’t all liberal because he reads it on google news. but google news has bias too. the bias is everywhere. face it.

i also don’t think bias is bad though. eh. who knows?
