grassroots art brut

oh man, lucas kansas was amazing, as usual. i think i’d love to retire out there because it’s a fantastic place. it’s like one of my favorite places ever i think. stephanie ended up going with roger and joe and i which was effing fantastic because i never get to see her as much as i would like to and its good to spend multiple times with her in one weekend. plus i think that joe really got to know her which is cool. cos good friends are worth keeping around.

the grassroots art museum was so sweet. they had lots of art designed by people not trained in arts and then some out-there artists who are just really sweet even though they’re trained in art. perhaps its even a talent i could find inside of myself. maybe. haha.

what a wonderful day. pictures to come. a lot of them of kitties because everyone knows that cats love roger (and fusion sucks).

tom waits, he doesn't sleep

the title isn’t even true about tom waits. i went to caitlin’s birthday party at cari-caitlin-stephanies tonight. it was an awesome time. i really need to be better friends with those girls. i hate how i hold grudges and they make it really difficult to get past things, because like seriously. nothing really matters anyway.

Wishful thinker with the most adventurous intentions

it looks like we’re following through on our crazy road trip idea, again. this time we’re planning on lucas but who knows where we we will end up. probably just lucas. i’ve got friends in hays, salina and manhattan though so the trip could be worth investigating alternative routes for or at the very least stopping for a dinner with brian and company and a lunch with clayton and company. it’s all gotta be organized on the fly though because that’s how we roll.

we also kidnapped roger which means the pictures will probably all be vertical panoramics now because he is very tall.

i’m going to caitlin’s party tonight and i’m kinds of excited about it because i haven’t seen cari and kim and those kids in ages and seeing stephanie is always worthwhile. here’s too good reactions for soda pop and mood stabilizers combined with potentially upsetting situations.

soundtrack for a car wreck

joe and i celebrated valentine’s day one day early because we want to spend tomorrow engaged in warfare with small unsuspecting cities. it was grand. i got a big gorilla that i love very much and threatened to name Kyle after that boy from Mizzou that i’m convinced deserves rights (just some basic ones…) but I won’t really do that. it was just a craaazy joke. anyway. so the gorilla is nameless but it is very adorable and therefore i adore it. i will hopefully name it soon and then i will post pictures of it, probably on my facebook. sorry to all of you people outthere who can’t view my facebook photos. silly animal children. i also got a bunch of candy. like a toblerone. NEXT STOP, MY THIGHS! heh. and Joe got a new necklace cos his old one was broken but he wore it anyway and this one is nice and not leather, thanks to jesse. then i mixed him a cd with a bunch of beats from our favorite bands.

we also went and snagged indian food at the globe. delicious! and now we have plenty of palak paneer and aloo paneer for each of us. what’s the difference? cheese or potatoes, depending on which dish you ask. and we got the vegetable platter for apetizers and it was really effin delicious. though i prefer the vegetable korma over everything else. and i got really full of mint chutney which is nothing but good news. and we should’ve gotten bread other than nan but you can only do so much in one evening and would we really have eaten one of those pita things plus all of the rest of our food? Only science can answer that.

after dinner we went back to the apartment for a bit and then drove around so he could hear all of his mixed cd. we drove via i-70 to auburn road and then took that to Burlingame (via K-4) and then took US-56 to US-75 and 75 to carbondale where we drove around and almost got shot up by the police (with radar guns, oh no!) luckily we were not speeding and lynching was outlawed long ago. then we returned to topeka. it was great. and it hought that mormons were pacifists until i remembered they love guns a lot.

Sundays Adventure: Early mass and Lucas, Kansas. With Roger. Whether he likes it or not.

i think i think i know

i have a huge crush on my microsuede blanket. it is the best purchase i have probably ever made. did i mention that i paid 99 for a king size blanket that was something like 275 in store (it includes shams and a bedskirt). heh. now we just need some curtains and things on the wall. fantastic.

joe’s parents renewed their vows in kc this weekend so we went up there. it’s nice because i really feel like part of their family. and they live in KCMO which means that seeing them is a great excuse to also see things like the plaza.

in last nights case it was seeing movies on the plaza. we went to see Transamerica which was effing brilliant. he didn’t think he’d like it and i think i had vaguely heard of it but basically got on the bandwagon to see it (the bandwagon was inhabited by me, alone, so i think it’s basically a soap box) because the flick looked arty and sorta gay. heh. it was such a good movie with lots of dry humor and it was basically about a road trip which joe and i are totally into.

i started my medicine this weekend too. it’s working! hoorah!

i cleaned the bedroom tonight but that was all i got to doing before i got tired and decided to clean the rest later. the nice thing about living with boys is you can be a ltitle messy and let things stay that way for a while without worrying too much.

so my fingers are starting to feel really soft on the keys. silly crazy pills.

ramenater

I went grocery shopping today!! Whee! I got strawberry preserves and soup and rasberry preserves and a whole bunch of rice dishes and some frozen food that’s easy and then some other things. and i went to the asian market and gave the lady who works there the cross i got her back when I was in Poland and we talked about that trip and she said she would pray for me about Abu Dhabi which comforted me a lot. She’s such a nice person. There, I bought stuff to roll some sushi and some chopsticks and a bunch of my favorite ramen and also stuff to make tom yum soup. Delicious! I can’t wait. Now all I need to do is clean and life will be reordered. Fantastic.

Oh yah! And!!! Sean and Jotto came over today and we watched Korczak so we can give it back to Prasch. It was pretty awesome though we didnt’ get to finish the flick because Sean and Brandon’s arrival was late and slightly unexpected and so we have like 40 minutes left and then I made ramen for jotto and i. Jotto is no longer allowed to come over because I always cook for her. And I’m not her damn keeper. But I suppose I would be.

And besides, we were roommates. But not in the weird way.

Yesterday, Jeremy told me that I am like a small, female, bisexual Kyle. AWESOME! Its got to be the best compliment I’ve ever gotten. Ever.

I’m now accepting themes for my birthday party. I’m 20 this year. It’s got to be good.

demanding

i’ve found that the requests of various instructors in terms of how and what a primary source should offer to the student or the scholar of history makes it increasingly difficult for me to operate with each individual source in the same coherent paradigm.

baked potato evenings

spelling potato p-o-t-a-t-o-e is for losers. people who do it should be declared the enemy in some made-up, unwinnable war.

jotto came over tonight during my guitar lesson but she stayed till after it and we hung out for a long time and i cooked potatoes for her and joe. DELICIOUS. it was great news and i cleaned up some which is also good news.

my gash gush has started for this month which is mostly suckage in part because i had an allergic reaction to my crazy pills (the lamictal, specifically) last week so i’ve been completely unmedicated this week which has made me really moody and all-over the place. add to that minor symptoms of pre-period bitchiness and then turn all of it into todays “everything i could think to do would just disappoint me” mood and feeling of homeboundness due to cramps that make driving no fun and you can imagine how great i am to be around.

i am pretty much the hero of everyone i know.

ugh. in good news: i went to the shrink today and she gave me new drugs. it’s called like Gabitrel or something. hopefully it works so I can quit being all bipolar all the time.

more updates than you can handle

so i decided today that my current knitting project which was going to be a very large scarf is now going to be a laptop case. exciting!

revolutionary

i went to see saul williams at borders in lawrence today with joe. he did a reading and a signing. i’m super glad we went because it turned out that it was awesome. i couldn’t go to the show at KU tonight and so we went to this as a supplement and then joe took my car and i snagged a ride to work with erin.

i think i need to be a poet, further, i think i need to find a revolution.

right now the revolution is in search of new beds.
